- If the watch is water resistant to 100m, why can’t this be used for scuba diving? The deepest recreational dives are about 130 feet and this watch is capable of going to 328 feet. The manual says to not push the buttons while underwater to maintain water resistance, so I’m just wondering what prevents this from being a dive watch? Does it have to do with salt water? Or is it just likely that a button could be pressed inadvertently while scuba diving?

While it is water resistant to 100m, it is not classified as a dive watch because pressing the buttons underwater can compromise the seal and allow water inside. Dive watches are specifically engineered with screw‑down crowns and seals to withstand prolonged underwater use, especially in salt water. For scuba diving, watches generally need a minimum of 200m water resistance to be considered suitable, so this model is best for swimming and snorkeling but not for diving.
